Precalculus & AP Precalculus tutoring

Build confidence with functions, algebra, trigonometry, and the unit circle—the foundations that make calculus more manageable. Practice polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions while connecting equations to their graphs.

AP Calculus AB & BC tutoring

Work through limits, derivatives, integrals, and their applications with clear explanations and practice connected to your class. For BC students, we can also focus on sequences and series, parametric equations, and polar calculus.

College Calculus I, II & III tutoring

Get help with limits and derivatives in Calculus I; integration techniques, improper integrals, and convergence tests in Calculus II; or vectors, partial derivatives, and multivariable concepts in Calculus III. We’ll connect each method to the reason it works.

A steady plan, twice a week

When each new lesson builds on the last, small gaps can quickly become big obstacles. Regular tutoring gives us time to address those gaps while keeping up with current coursework.

1. Start with what’s getting in the way. We’ll discuss your course, goals, and the topics that feel uncertain.

2. Make the ideas make sense. I break problems into manageable steps and connect new material to what you already know.

3. Practice with purpose. You’ll work through problems, explain your reasoning, and build the independence to tackle the next assignment or exam.

Meet Josh Collins

I’m Josh Collins, and I teach calculus at Austin Community College (ACC). I also provide private math tutoring for high school and college students, helping them turn confusing material into ideas they can explain and use.

My approach is patient, direct, and tailored to the student. We’ll work on your current course while strengthening the algebra and trigonometry underneath it. There’s room to ask questions, make mistakes, and try again.

Based in Austin, I work with students online, including families in Westlake and the wider Austin area.

Can tutoring follow my class?

Yes. Bring your syllabus, recent assignments, notes, and upcoming test topics so our work matches what you’re learning.

What if I need help with algebra or trigonometry first?

We’ll identify the foundational skills that are getting in the way and practice them alongside your current precalculus or calculus topics.

Do you offer online calculus tutoring?

Yes. Online lessons are available for AP Calculus AB/BC and college Calculus I–III, as well as precalculus. Students outside Austin are welcome.

Do you tutor students in Austin and Westlake?
