AP Calculus AB: connect limits, derivatives, and integrals

AB moves quickly from understanding change to using it in applications. Tutoring can focus on limits and continuity, derivative rules, implicit differentiation, related rates, optimization, curve analysis, and the connection between derivatives and integrals through the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus.

We can also practice accumulation, substitution, differential equations, and interpreting functions from graphs, tables, and written descriptions. Bring your current assignments or recent test so we can find the reasoning that needs more attention.

AP Calculus BC: build on AB without losing the foundations

BC adds techniques and representations that can make choosing a method especially challenging. We can work on integration by parts, partial fractions, improper integrals, parametric and polar calculus, sequences and series, convergence tests, and Taylor and Maclaurin series.

Instead of memorizing a list of tests, we will discuss what features of a problem suggest a particular method and how to explain why it applies.

A plan for coursework and exam preparation

We will use your syllabus, teacher's expectations, and upcoming test topics to guide lessons. You will practice setting up problems, explaining your reasoning, checking results, and recognizing where an algebra or trig gap is making calculus harder.

For AP preparation, we can work on both multiple-choice strategy and written explanations for free-response problems. Tutoring supports your learning; you remain the person doing and understanding the work.

Consistent support with clear rates

New online students usually start with two one-hour lessons per week for $170/week ($85/hour), billed weekly through Stripe after we confirm your recurring schedule. In-person tutoring in the Austin area is quoted separately based on location and travel time.

Lesson availability is generally Monday–Thursday, 4–9 p.m. Central, with some Sunday appointments. Exact openings are confirmed during the consultation.

Not sure where the difficulty starts?

The free Math Readiness Check samples selected foundations for your course and gives instant feedback. It can help us begin a conversation about what to strengthen; it is not a placement test or a complete measure of readiness.
