Make functions and graphs tell the same story
We can work through domain and range, transformations, compositions and inverse functions, and the relationship between an equation and its graph. For polynomial and rational functions, that includes factoring, zeros, end behavior, holes, and asymptotes.
For exponential and logarithmic functions, we will connect their properties to equations and applications. The goal is to recognize what a problem is asking and choose steps you can explain, rather than treating every exercise as a new rule to memorize.
Build trigonometry from a clear starting point
Trigonometry becomes more manageable when right triangles and the unit circle connect. We can work on radians, exact values, signs by quadrant, sine and cosine graphs, identities, inverse trigonometric functions, and solving trigonometric equations.
We will draw pictures and connect the ratios to coordinates, then practice using those ideas in equations. When a sign, angle family, or algebra step is the obstacle, we will slow down there.
Support for AP Precalculus and college precalculus
Bring your syllabus, assignments, notes, and upcoming test topics. We will tailor the work to your course and practice interpreting functions from equations, graphs, tables, and descriptions.
For AP Precalculus students, lessons can include class review and exam preparation with attention to both answers and explanations. For students preparing for calculus, we will focus on the algebra and trig skills that appear again in limits, derivatives, and integrals.
A consistent plan that fits your class
A lesson begins with what is getting in the way, moves into a clear explanation, and gives you time to practice and explain your thinking. Regular meetings let us strengthen foundations while keeping up with current coursework.
New online students usually start with two one-hour lessons per week for $170/week ($85/hour), billed weekly through Stripe after your recurring schedule is confirmed. In-person pricing in the Austin area is quoted separately based on location and travel time.
Availability is generally Monday–Thursday, 4–9 p.m. Central, with some Sunday appointments. We will confirm exact openings during the consultation.
